Our March convoy is set to be one of our most ambitious projects to date. A team of 20 dedicated volunteers will drive across Europe, traveling two hours into Ukraine to take on a DIYSOS-style mission: refurbishing a care home for elderly and disabled individuals who’ve lost their homes due to the ongoing conflict. Many of them arrived with little more than what they could carry.
Currently, the living conditions are far from ideal. The residents are cramped, with four or five people sharing a single bedroom upstairs, and there’s only one bathroom downstairs.
With the support of our generous donors and a talented crew of local tradesmen, we plan to transform their home in just four days.
The project will include installing a new kitchen, laundry area, toilets and bathrooms, stairlift, new mattresses, disability aids, and complete redecoration. We’ll also be adding new blinds, lights, bedding, and breakout seating — essentially, if it’s broken or outdated, we’re replacing it!
We’ll be documenting the entire process, so you can follow the transformation from start to finish.
And all of this comes on top of a challenging three-day drive each way!
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who’s made this possible, with special thanks to:
