Starting on 7th May – we get the overnight ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge, arriving early in the morning of the 8th.
The convoy then drives through the Belgium into Germany, past Frankfurt heading south-east. We have an overnight stay in Germany, near the Austrian border, then continue the next day into Austria, past Vienna and on into Hungary. Through Hungary and just over the Romanian border for another overnight stay.
Next day we are again up before dawn for several drop off points around Romania including Sfantu Gheorge and Sighisoara (the birth place of Dracula!). We have 2 days in Romania visiting projects before heading home along the same route. A round trip of roughly 3000 miles.
In what has to be one of our largest ever trips undertaken we are very proud and excited to be taking over £2,500,000 worth of much needed humanitarian aid. This spread over several large trucks gives us a staggering combined total load over a massive 100 TONS of goods.
Thank you to all our drivers without whom this aid trip couldn’t happen!
